Brief History

Headquartered in Charleston, South Carolina, Hawthorne, whose roots go back to its first FBO in 1932, is a world class aviation services company and leader in general aviation services and airport management. Over our 78 year history we helped create the second largest general aviation service company in the U.S. and Canada, and we have been advising financial sponsors and airport owners in all aspects of the general aviation industry not only in North America but throughout the world. Hawthorne is one of only a few private U. S. companies with significant airport management experience, and the only one that is specifically orientated to the general aviation, corporate, and special purpose (including military, space, and cargo) communities.

Active participation in projects in the Americas, Europe, India and the Middle East have resulted in a global network focused on general aviation and airport infrastructure.
