Thomas Dean Harton
1945-2008

 

Mr. Harton joined Hawthorne in 1968 and served in various operational and financial positions including Chief Operating Officer, Chief Financial Officer, and President and Chief Executive Officer. As CEO, he guided Hawthorne's aviation businesses through several Carlyle Group sponsored transactions to eventually form Landmark Aviation, the second largest general aviation service provider in North America. Mr. Harton also led Hawthorne's investment companies through transactions on a global scale across multiple industries.

Mr. Harton attended Presbyterian College and graduated from the Miller School of Aeronautics. He received an associate degree in law from LaSalle University and held an Airline Transport Pilot Certificate. He served as Vice Chairman of the board for Landmark Aviation and as a director of The Bank of South Carolina. He also served on the board of the National Air Transportation Association.


Steven P. Levesque
President

Mr. Levesque joined Hawthorne Investment Banking in 1995. In 1998, following the first Carlyle Group sponsored transaction which resulted in the formation of Piedmont Hawthorne Holdings, Inc., Mr. Levesque took responsibility for corporate development for that company. In 2003, he was appointed Chief Financial Officer and led the transformational merger of Piedmont Hawthorne with Garrett Aviation Services, serving as acting CFO of the combined companies until the integration effort was complete. Under the Landmark Aviation operating name he led merger and acquisition activity until January 2007 when he moved back to Hawthorne .

Prior to joining Hawthorne , he was an account executive for Bank of America from 1993 to1995 and served on active duty as a naval officer from 1989 to 1992. Mr. Levesque graduated from the University of North Carolina – Chapel Hill with a B.S.B.A. concentrating in finance and earned his M.B.A. at The Citadel.


William E. Harton
Vice President

William Harton joined Hawthorne in December, 2006. In 2002, he joined the aviation division of Marsh USA, Inc. in their New York office. At Marsh he specialized in aerospace products and between 2003 and 2006 worked with private equity/M&A due diligence teams for Fortune 200 aerospace manufacturers and aircraft leasing companies.

Will earned a B.A. in History from Duke University.


Scott Zimmerman
Senior Financial Analyst

Mr. Zimmerman joined Landmark Aviation in 2004 as a senior financial analyst and moved to Hawthorne Corporation in January, 2007. At Landmark, he was involved in several fixed base operation acquisitions as well as the renegotiation of multiple service contracts. Before joining Landmark, he was a financial analyst with Atlanta-based developer Southeastern Hospitality Holdings and was Assistant Controller at the Hilton Charleston Harbor Resort and Marina.

Mr. Zimmerman graduated from The Georgia Institute of Technology with a B.S. in Management with certificates in Finance, Economics, and Psychology. He also received his M.B.A. in Finance from Georgia State University and maintains his real estate license.


David F. Brinson
Project Supervisor

Mr. Brinson joined Hawthorne in 1977 in the Aircraft Sales division. While at Hawthorne his responsibilities included design, construction management and operations of corporate aviation service facilities. He gained extensive experience in corporate jet aircraft sales and marketing, and a variety of management and marketing responsibilities have provided him with a vast number of contacts throughout the industry. Mr. Brinson also oversaw development of the Hawthorne (later Landmark Aviation) fixed base operation at Dulles International Airport and managed the ongoing operation and was Vice President and Regional Manager of the FBO division of Piedmont Hawthorne until his resignation in 2002. Since that time, he has specialized in development and operation of airport facilities.


Thomas E. Zollars
Project Supervisor

Mr. Zollars joined Hawthorne in 1977 serving in various roles including General Manager for Hawthorne Aviation, Manager of Corporate Development for Hawthorne Corporation, and, under Piedmont Hawthorne/Landmark Aviation, as Vice President – Regional Manager for Canada and the Northeast until his retirement in 2006. He continues to work with Hawthorne Corporation on a project basis. During his career, Mr. Zollars has been responsible for managing both large and small Fixed Base Operations as well as oversight of several large North American operations at major international airports.

Mr. Zollars graduated from Purdue University with a B.S. in Aviation Technology and has completed graduate work in Business Administration at Western Michigan University.


Horry H. Kerrison, Jr.
Managing Director-HBFS

Bo Kerrison joined HBFS in 2008. Mr. Kerrison began his career with Arthur Andersen & Company, earning the CPA designation. He then spent twenty years in investments business while working for Salomon Brothers, Merrill Lynch and managing a hedge fund that he founded. Bo has extensive experience in negotiating and structuring middle market transactions, particularly in the insurance and financial services sector.

Mr. Kerrison graduated with honors from the Citadel and earned his MBA from the Darden School of Business at the University of Virginia.
